Google Chrome is coming

As a Firefox addict, I am still excited by the potential explosion of Google chrome onto the open source browser scene. The ferver, the excitement, the parade – the excitement is palpable. Around the world server speed is suffering as the suspense mounts.
The most useful tool to review the Google chrome concept is a scanned and uploaded comic book collected by Google watchdog Phillipp Lessen. With the intense number of hits on the hosting servers here are a couple of hosting sites to try.
All looks very cool and interesting and I love the sound of the ‘Omnibox’ auto-search completion bar; the the concept of the ‘incognito’ window for private browsing; the Opera style home page thumbnails and the V8 open source browser speed machine addition.
GOOGLE CHROME HAS ARRIVED
Other great features are expanded in readwriteweb.com article and blogoscoped.com
- Smarter memory management. A sophisticated approach to data storage across time and tabs will keep the browser in top shape.
- Crash-free app browsing. Applications will be partitioned in the browser so if one crashes, it won’t crash your whole browser.
- Tabs on the top. Instead of tabs being displayed below your address bar, inside the browser – they’ll ride on top of each browser window. We’ll see what this is like for the user, we do wonder.
- Quick navigation. Your most frequently visited pages will be available in a point and click navigation, like Opera’s Quick Dial.
- OpenID sign in…Google released an application for the platform that essentially makes Google an OpenID Provider as per Steven Osborn
- Check out some more Google screen shot previews during the wait…
